Can I install a Level 2 charger on a 100A service?
Possibly. The answer depends on the calculated demand, existing electric loads, charger setting and available equipment options. Some properties can use a lower charging current or an approved energy-management system; others genuinely need more service capacity. The load review should decide—not guesswork.
Does an EV charger installation require an ESA permit?
Yes. ESA states that EV charger installations require an electrical notification before work starts. Electrical Standard coordinates the required notification and inspection as part of the agreed installation scope.
What photos help with an EV charger quote?
Send clear photos of the full panel, main service rating, panel directory, charger label, proposed mounting location and the route between them. Include an approximate distance and mention whether the garage is attached or detached.
